Free Easter Bilby Activity Sheet
Our annual Easter Bilby nature craft is part craft, part bush treasure hunt, and a gentle way to spark a lifelong love of nature in your wildlings.
There is something truly special about growing up in Australia. Our country is home to some of the most extraordinary creatures on earth, animals found nowhere else in the world. One of them is the bilby. With their big ears, soft fur, and gentle nature, bilbies are hard not to love. But they need our help. Once found all over Australia, there are now fewer than 10,000 bilbies left in the wild due to habitat destruction, making them an endangered species.
Kids who feel connected to nature grow up wanting to protect it. And it doesn't take much. A walk outside, a craft made from things found on the ground, a conversation about an animal that needs our care.
This Easter, we're inviting your family to swap the bunny for the bilby and, in doing so, take one small but meaningful step toward raising children who love and look after the natural world.
Step 1. Go outside and find some treasures like flowers, leaves, sand or anything from nature.
Step 2. Glue your treasures onto the egg and decorate it however you like.
Step 3. Cut off the excess paper.
Step 4. Fold along the dotted lines so your bilby can hatch!

Easter Holidays = Nature Play
The first step in raising eco-conscious kids? Helping them connect with nature. Whether it’s spotting a bilby, decorating their mask with leaves and flowers, or choosing chocolate that supports wildlife conservation, every small act builds a deeper love for the natural world.
At Wildlings Forest School, we encourage children and families across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast to see the wonder in nature through imaginative play. This bilby mask activity also teaches kids to forage sustainably, fostering eco-literacy and a deep love for the natural world.
If you're looking for more ways to embrace outdoor fun, our school holiday programs provide children with opportunities to encourage eco-stewardship and create lifelong memories, surrounded by other curious-minded kids.
